Of all the habits humans indulge in, Smoking is the most baffling. The effects on the health of the smoker, as well as other people through passive smoking, the ever rising cost of feeding the habit and the tax burden put on by most civilised governments are all well understood by those that indulge in the past time. Yet many people, once they start to smoke continue to do so throughout their lifetime. It is almost universally accepted that that lifetime will be foreshortened and that the smokers general well being will deteriorate at a greater rate than the non-smoker. Looked at objectively, the habit is quite an unpleasant one. Yellow stained teeth and fingers, together with bad breath and smelly clothes that can be detected across a room by a non-smoker, are all pointers to someone who ‘takes the weed’.

Yet people must get satisfaction, pleasure or some other form of good feeling from smoking a cigarette or cigar, otherwise they certainly would not brush aside these negative attributes of the habit. Its clear most smokers enjoy the after-effect, even from a single drag on someone else’s lit cigarette. Even those that do give up the habit usually admit to missing something that was an enjoyable part of their lives, even if it did have harmful elements.

Once started on smoking, most people find it really difficult to stop, largely due to the addictive power of a cigarette’s nicotine content. Why then do Smokers take up the habit in the first place? It is clearly not because the dangers of smoking are not generally known. Indeed governments and other organizations all around the world spend hundreds of millions of dollars each year highlighting the harmful effects of smoking. The move to take up the first cigarette can come from a number of influences.

A surprising number of smokers tried their first smoke when still under the age of twelve. Often as a ‘dare’ or some similar pressure from peers at school. The majority of those that go on to be lifetime heavy smokers however commence the process, which at this time may not yet be a habit, when in their teens. Adolescence brings with it a need to be one of the ‘in-crowd’ and to fit in. This is also true in later life but maturity tends to bring understanding and a more considered approach to such things as smoking. It is particularly difficult for teenagers to resist the pressure from friends to appear cool and to establish some form of ’street-cred’ by having a cigarette dangling from their mouth.

Some youths will of course listen to the anti smoking propaganda coming at them from the older generation and simply rebel against parental and other advice. Besides, doing what grownups do, makes them grownup doesn’t it? Like most things to do with teenagers, they already know the dangers of potential harm to health etc. They just choose to interpret the risk differently from their elders.

Tobacco company advertising is probably the most significant influence on the decision to take up smoking. Usually depicting fit and healthy young people having fun and then relaxing with a smooth cigarette is a great motivator to take up smoking at any age. Who wouldn’t be tempted to rush out to buy the depicted cigarette so they could immediately sign up for the great lifestyle that would otherwise be so elusive?

The popular images depicted in cigarette advertisements also appeal to adults. They either feel they missed something in their youth or just feel they are now ready to take up the good life they deserve and smoking will give them the edge. Fully aware that smoking will not be an automatic ticket to social acceptance, they nevertheless feel it will change their perceived image to one of being a sophisticated, cool person on top of their game.

As people get older, they tend to become more stressed and this often leads to them turning to cigarette smoking as a way of relieving that stress. Although tobacco is not a long-term cure for stress and emotional instability, it does offer a means of short-term solace, not available to non-smokers. Stressful or high emotion jobs tend to have higher percentages of workers who smoke than more mundane types of work.

At some point in life, most smokers decide they should quit the smoking habit. The known dangers, previously put to the back of their minds come to the fore, possibly because they are beginning to suffer from increasing health problems. At this point, they have an extremely difficult task ahead of them, for the addictive nature of the nicotine in the tobacco is going to fight them all the way.

When people generally think of hypnosis, they tend to think of the person having a watch dangled in front of their face as they become very sleepy. This certainly is a form of hypnosis that works, but it requires the individual being hypnotized to agree to this. In other words, they have to allow to be hypnotized.

There are more sophisticated methods of hypnotizing people that are even more effective. What is known as conversational hypnosis, or covert hypnosis, allows the well-trained hypnotists to put people under a spell without them even knowing it.

The unfortunate part of this is that it is so powerful that many people use this ability completely unethically. For instance, you could literally walk up to a cashier at a store and simply ask her to open the drawer and hand you all the money. He or she will do it without hesitation, just as you ask, and you calmly walk out. This has actually happened before and been caught on tape. The hypnotists was eventually arrested and is spending many years in jail, so it is not recommended.

But imagine being able to form instant relationships with attractive people of the opposite sex, talking your friends or children to obey your every command, and getting your boss to give you a raise. If you are in a sales or marketing you can use these abilities to help you close more sales and be more successful.

In fact, many business professionals go through intense conversational hypnosis training in order to help them be more effective speakers and develop extraordinary persuasive speech. When used responsibly, these skills can help you achieve more success, earn more money, form better relationships and reach your biggest goals.

Many animators avoid drawing human characters because they can be so difficult to perfect. But we have compiled a short how to that will help you craft memorable cartoon people.

Start with the basics. If you look at the human anatomy you will see that we are built primarily out of interconnected ovals. This is where you want to begin when roughing out a character. Use long slightly wide (depending on character’s body type) ovals for your torsos. Now, using four rounded boxes you can piece together the arms and legs. At this stage, you are just sketching out the body, so draw the entire shape. Use a primary shape for the head. Are they going to have a circular head or squarish? Attach head to torso using a proportionate rectangle.

There, you have the beginnings of your very own Yosemite Sam. Eyes can be circles, triangles, half-ovals or just about any shape you can imagine. Mouths follow the same rule as eyes, go with what feels right to you.

When you are happy with the basic dimensions you can begin going over the lines that will be visible with a pen or marker. Allow the marker/pen ink to dry and erase the pencil lines from before.

During the inking stage, you can give your drawing definition and dimension by shading. Shading is the line that runs thinker under the chin, or seemingly random slashes of ink through the hair. To properly shade your character, think of where the light will be coming from in your scene. Use more shading away from the light source and under the character.

Color. Once you have cleared the page of pencil you can add color. Start with your basic reds, blues and yellows. Take care to blend the different hues together in a natural way. Using your thumb to smudge across barriers is an effective way to create realism.

Marvel at your masterpiece. You just proved that you know how to draw cartoon people. Keep practicing and showing your work around. Who knows, next time I’m watching Saturday morning TV it could be your art I see. Good luck.

The level of success that you experience in life will have a lot to do with your ability to influence people. Now I’m not talking about a controlling type of thing. Influence is the ability to persuade someone to act or think a certain way. For instance, if you are in sales you are constantly trying to influence people to buy from you. As a parent you are trying your best to influence your children to be able to make good decisions in life. Here are 3 ways you can use to influence people.

1. Lead by example.

Some of the most influential people this world has ever seen led by their own example. After all, how do you expect someone to do one thing when you are doing something completely opposite of what you are telling them? Your example can be one of your strongest influences on others.

2. Motivate and inspire.

Motivation and inspiration are great tools to influence people. If you are able to inspire people in a way that they feel they are benefiting themselves and others at the same time, you will see that your influence has a tremendous effect. Find ways to motivate and inspire those around you. The more you learn to do this the more you will see people being influenced by you.

3. Learn to communicate effectively.

Effective communication is one of the strongest ways to influence people. The better you are at understanding where someone is coming from and how to communicate with them, the better you will be at knowing what will influence them. If you can’t communicate effectively you will soon become very frustrated because people won’t be influenced by you at all.

Most of us are at work as much or more as we are anywhere else. We spend the largest part of our time there, aside from possibly at home (some of us are actually at work more than at home). So, naturally, we spend a lot of time with our co-workers. As a result, we sometimes become very close with them. Inevitably, from time to time, the temptation to go out with a co-worker is too much to resist? So, is this a good idea, or not?

First of all, many companies have very specific rules about co-workers dating. Find out what these are, and use that as your first reference. Aside from that, there are some things to consider when thinking about dating a colleague.

1. Are the two of you in a supervisor/subordinate relationship at work? Even if there are no rules at your workplace forbidding it (unlikely), it’s never a good idea to become intimate with someone who has authority over you, or over whom you have authority. The intimate relationship will undoubtedly influence decisions such as promotions, raises, and performance evaluations, and that’s not only unfair to the individuals in the relationship, but to other employees, and the company in general.

2. Is it going to be distraction from work? If either of you is going to be inhibited in your ability to perform your normal job duties due to the relationship, it probably isn’t a good idea. If it is something you can keep outside of, and separate from, work, then it may work out fine.

3. What happens when it’s over? If the two of you are BOTH mature enough to end the intimate relationship and remain colleagues, with no change in the working relationship, this won’t be an issue. If one or both of you is going to have a hard dealing with seeing the other one each and every day, then I would stay away from the situation.

Basically, a good dose of common sense is called for. If you are going to embark on an intimate relationship with someone at work, some very specific communication is necessary on the front end. Ground rules need to be laid out at the beginning to ensure that there is no confusion later on. Remember, your work is your means of providing for yourself (and perhaps your family, too), so don’t do anything to jeopardize that, no matter how fun or exciting it seems like it could be.

I wanted to help you answer the question on why do people snore and show you what you can do to stop it. This is a problem that has been growing over time. It seems like people have taken on the traits of their parents and are doing the snoring too. This used to be predominately a problem that men suffered from, but more and more women are suffering from it too. I think the main issue that leads to people not fixing this problem is that there isn’t much (if any) conventional wisdom on the problem. It is hard to solve a problem when you don’t know what to do. This is why I’m going to answer the question: why do people snore and try to show you how to fix it.

The first thing you need to understand is that people create this sound by the throat constricting while they sleep. If you think of this like physics, are will be forced to travel at a much faster rate through the throat. It is this faster rate of speed that inevitably leads to the sounds you hear. It is actually vibrating tissue and it is really hard to stop this when you’re asleep.

Now that I have answered why people snore, we can talk about solving it. Your muscles go loose when you sleep and this leads to your jaw becoming unsupported. By using a device known as a jaw supporter, you should be able to hold your jaw up, which puts pressure off the throat and allows it to remain expanded.

People who suffer from low self confidence take the back seat to those who do not. They hang back, afraid to make mistakes and take risks that may just give them their big break and lead to their greatest happiness. If you lack self confidence you can miss out on an awful lot.

Luckily, you can train your self confidence so that it increases, and feeling confident becomes a regular state of affairs for you. Simply do what confident people do.

Learning to train yourself to improve your self confidence will put you back in charge of your life. You will no longer hide out in the back of the room, afraid to voice your opinion. Instead, you will be able to stand, with confidence, as an equal with your peers and share your valuable opinions and thoughts.

This can be as easy as copying the patterns of self confident people:

1. Take an honest inventory of your insecurities

Sit down and really listen to that inner voice. What does it say about you? From regrets, weight, poor relationships and feeling unworthy, take an inventory by writing these thoughts down. Recognize that they are just insecurities.

2. Do not allow yourself to feel inferior

Fight against the urge to believe that the others around you are simply better than you. They are not. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses.

3. Nobody is perfect

No matter how confident a person seems, nobody is perfect. In fact, it is our imperfections that make us unique. Stop focusing on perfection and instead learn to love yourself for your flaws.

4. Celebrate your successes

No matter who you are, there is something that you are good at. Take the time to find the things that you enjoy and are good at doing and then do them. If you have a green thumb, grow a garden and allow yourself to enjoy it. If you have a way with words, write poems or cards for the people you love and don’t be afraid to give them out. This is a great opportunity to explore new interest and activities.

5. Always be grateful

Never forget to be thankful for what you have. Taking a moment during the day to consciously think of the things in your life you are thankful for is important.

6. Don’t be negative

Self pity just makes things worse. When you are feeling negative, make an effort to think positively. Hating yourself or your life is self defeating.

If you find yourself thinking negative thoughts about your job, take a few minutes to think of three positive things about it. Do this every time you have a negative thought. You may be surprised at how quickly you become a positive person and thinker.

7. Be gracious when you’re complimented

Recognize that when people give you a compliment, they mean it, so be gracious and accept the compliment. Don’t just shrug compliments off.

8. Smile

The physical act of smiling can actually make you feel better, so smile, a lot. Smile at yourself, smile at others and smile at nothing in particular. It is a great way to feel better.

9. Until you feel it, fake it

Just like the act of smiling can make you feel better, acting confident and happy will help you be happy and confident. Make an effort to be the happy and confident person you have always wanted to be. In no time at all, you will notice there is less pretending to be confident and more just being confident.

Becoming a happy and confident person is possible, no matter how much confidence you lack. Take the time to follow a few simple tips for training your self confidence and you will be surprised at the change in your self confidence level.

I can show you hundreds of way to locate people without paying any money; however I will pick only one effective method and elaborate on it. Take a few minutes to read through quickly and you will find this page more useful than you imagined.

Before I show you the free method let me highlight some few points on why you should consider paying some money when trying to locate someone.

Most of the websites or services that offer paid people locator services have millions of profiles from people who willingly provide and update them regularly. These companies pay these people for maintaining their profiles on the sites. Essentially this means then that you are most likely to get up to date information and probably even more elaborate info that you can use to your heart’s content.

On the flip side, these tend to have limited profile when compared to those sites that collect information the search engine way i.e. by crawling the web.

Now you probably realize where I am taking this. My recommendation is free people search finders or search engines. I can mention a few here but I do not mean to endorse them or anything – just to give you an example of some few sites to consider. These include, Zabasearch, Whitepages, Wink to name a few.

Some of these sites will ask you to sign up before you access their database. I say go ahead and do it – you have nothing to lose. Actually this will help you later on, say for example, the person you are looking for is also looking for you. So leaving a digital trail is always a good idea when looking for a way to locate people without paying any money.

Plants and animals balance each other in an ecosystem. While most animals are predators, plants provide food and oxygen for the animals. On the other hand, animals also do their part in the food chain during the process of decay as it provides nutrients that are needed for healthy plant growth.

The food chain and the ecosystem becomes unbalanced once human beings who do not understand proper use and conservation of resources come into the picture. These people do not only exhaust all the plant resources but they also abuse and mistreat the animals that depend on them.

* These people have been exposed to violence themselves.

Some people who abuse them and other people may have been treated violently when they were younger. Because of their feeling of helplessness when they were young, they tend to look for another being to whom they can exert some force.

Also, those who have just witnessed a lot of violence are also likely to pass on this actions to other people and other living things. These people might view violence as the norm of life and is just living what they think is normal.

* Animal abusers believe that animals do not deserve respect.

A common belief of those people that abuse them is that they are lower forms of being and should not be respected. While it may be debatable as to whether they are lower forms of creation or whether they are equal to human beings, those who know the role that these organisms play in the ecosystem will agree that they also deserve some respect.

* These people lack education on how to treat them properly.

Animal abuse usually occur in places or households where the people lack education on proper pet treatment. Some of these people think that they are toys that do not experience pain, hunger and fatigue. Once these people are educated on how to treat them, most of them change towards creating a better environment for their pets.

* Those who abuse animals would like to maximize the benefits that people can get from animals.

These people treat animals like slaves. They believe that once they own these animals, they can do whatever they want with them. They make their animals work until they reach their limits or live through the day without food. Again, sufficient education will make these people change these views on treating these animals. While animals can help in some chores, like human beings, they should also be fed and allowed to rest.

While animals and human beings are biologically different, they share some similarities. Both experience hunger, thirst and pain. Every form of creation deserves respect.
